I've never had any real desire to see China, but the longer I live here the more I think about it. Looks like you enjoyed your trip.
mmmm... I think China is like India (but to a lesser extent), you love it or hate it. If you go expecting squat toilets, un-identifiable food and an open and loose attitude towards traffic signals you'll have a ball. The people are warm and inquisative, the food is delicious even though you have no idea what it is (vegetarians make go hungry), it's easy to get around, at least Shanghai and Xi'an the towns I know best are. And it's not swarming with tourists. Learning to count in Chinese may make life easier!!
